Establish a Line One was a site-specific, mixed media work included in a Southern Arts funded project, located on the Esplanade of Southsea’s promenade. This was the first attempt to produce work beyond painting, involving drawing, photography and various forms of temporary interventions.
Drawing was a significant feature of this project both in the form of developmental scores or plans for events and activities, and to record particular experiences and interactions with the ever-changing nature of the public space. This was the first, and only time, that a direct interaction with an audience was included within the work.
