During the 1990s practice became more expansive and complex but can be divided into three main bodies of work:

Enigmatological Analysis was a collection of paintings and studies that  derived from an encounter with a small classical sculpture discovered in a small museum at the Chopin/Sands house in Valldemossa, Majorca. These works also reflect an interest in the enigmatic riddles associated with the paintings of Giorgio de Chirico.

A Walk round the Mountain was a painting and series of drawing studies based on an encounter with Cezanne’s studio in Aix en Provence and the experience of a drive around Monte Sainte Victoire.

One from the Heart was a painting and series of studies that reference a single scene from Francis Ford Coppolla’s film One from the Heart, made in 1982.
